Electronics more accessible to the wider communities, engineers,hobbiest, makers

With the expansion of electronics to the masses e.g makers designers, engineers. Is it becoming more difficult to get a head of the game in terms of electronics  product design.

My observations is that:

You certainly have to be creative but now it's becoming more important to have a deeper understanding of electronics application and physics in order to provide novel product technologies and techniques that stand out.

Science and mathematics will become more important
In electronics development what ever route you take
If you looking for the advantage.
