I've noticed that not many people use the topic icons when posting a new topic... 
How about displaying the flag of the OP in that position instead.
(Flags should be mandatory when registering anyway!)

Then, any location specific topics (FS, WTB, PARTS NEEDED, MEETUP, etc...) will make sense when alongside the location of the OP - so people in one country don't make suggestions out of context to the OP's location.. ?

Just a thought to go with my previous suggestion for an 'OP' marker in the forum replies...

It's a big world out there and speaking for myself I do not care if a fellow board member is from the USA, the UAE or Uzbekistan.

Yes, in one sense, it doesn't matter where any of us are.  We all speak "electronics" and attempt to communicate with each other, mostly in BrEnglish or AmEnglish or OzEnglish (which are close enough for practical purposes).

But when people ask about local vendors, or local power, or local spectrum, or customs and shipping, or several other things, it becomes critical to know exactly where they are coming from, in the practical, geographic sense, if not in the philosophical sense.
