Ericsson T28 battery safety: Li-po/Li-ion

We are selling a Ericsson T29 classic phone with original housing and battery.

If you are buying from other sellers, it is important to make sure that you are getting a ORIGINAL battery with your Ericsson T29, because the power control of the Ericsson T29 is replying on the original battery to control the charging. If you are using a replacement battery or even worst a fake battery, the charging will not stop even when the battery is full charged!

If you are lucky, the phone will toast itself. But in some case, the battery will explode!

I know these things happen, but are they seriously saying that, unless you buy G£NUIN£ Ericsson batteries, the copies (with good review btw) will not have this safety circuit built in, in ALL cases? How can they know?

If I were to guess I would say it's a "buy genuine" sales pitch.

While it may be possible that some extremely cheap cells don't have the protection circuit, my experience with off-brand cells shows that even those intended to be installed in non-user-serviceable devices like iPods will have protection PCB on the cell itself.
