Hi Guys, didn't know where to post this so i put it in general chat.
The Issue : European Satellite channels that broadcast from Intelsat 19 Ku Band , 166.0 East.
The Coverage Footprint covers all of Australia and New Zeland.
Who is affected : Anyone watching the following channels (Based on Nationality and belief)
- Serbian
- Madeconian
- Greek
- Turkish
- Sudanese
- Arabic
- Coptic (Greek Orthodox)
- Christian Channels
WHAT HAPPENED : For anyone who has followed this for the last few decades for Paid and FTA Channels (European and Middle eastern based)
there has been a back and forth between Optus D2 and Intelsat 19,
then a decision was made to take all the channels OFF OPTUS D2 at 152.0 East.
the Last Transponder that worked was as follows
FREQUENCY : 12286
POLARIZATION : HORIZONTAL
SYMBOL RATE : 30000 Sym /s
F.E.C. :3/4 or (Auto)
it is possible that these settings do return, but unlikely.
the Transponder lost power and went down around 2 weeks ago.
I heard yesterday from the Grapevine that they have made a decision to decommission 12286
AND MOVE TO A NEW TRANSPONDER
THE NEW DETAILS ARE AS FOLLOWS:
FREQUENCY : 12606
POLARIZATION : HORIZONTAL
SYMBOL RATE : 30000 Sym /s
F.E.C. :3/4 or (Auto)
After you scan it in they have labelled the channels in a weird way (Perhaps the N.I.T. is just temporary)
FYI... N.I.T. = Network Information Table (it's what causes you to see the channel names when you press info on your remote.
and it gives you your channel guide.
at the moment most channels are labelled as
CHANNEL 1
CHANNEL 2
etc etc
there are like 25, but they are not in corresponding order
In any case, Setup your L.N.B. Settings as either 11300 or 10700 with the above transponder settings.
Scan in the T.P. and away you go.
As far as i'm aware this is going to be permanent (as Permanent as they can be anyway).
any problems, Let me know
