h2testw is pretty old and not very sophisticated - it is also very slow. Most fakes are much lower capacity flash or sdcards that have had there spi eeproms reflashed with lies to pretend to be much larger than they are. They are also pretty shit to begin with, like an 8GB card will be "upgraded" to 64GB, but was a manufacturers 8GB reject to begin with before the counterfeiters got hold of them.

FAKEFLASHTEST (http://rmprepusb.blogspot.co.uk/2014/09/fakeflashtest-v111-now-available.html) is a better tool, at least for quick verification. If it fails that (without waiting days) then it is a duffer for sure so no need to waste time with a full test like h2testw.

I've had a few ebay specials and even mainstream sellers refund/replace on the fakeflashtest results alone.

Some of these eBay sellers actually admit that the items they are selling are worthless fakes before you buy them  ???

This "1TB" drive (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/usb-2-0-GOLD-METAL-1tb-976GB-high-quality-memory-stick-flash-drive-/221876782478?hash=item33a8e3058e) has this warning:
 "You might get read/write errors occur when maximum capacity is reached".

This "512GB" vendor (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/512GB-USB-2-0-Flash-Drive-Memory-Stick-LIFETIME-WARRANTY/181762836126?_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIC.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D32694%26meid%3D7e4335b8f6964344bbf2d84280e5a19a%26pid%3D100005%26rk%3D2%26rkt%3D6%26mehot%3Dpp%26sd%3D221876782478) cheerfully admits that:
"The capacity and speed of these Flash Drives can vary with a minimum of 8GB usable storage capacity and upwards, the Flash Drives may display more memory being available but errors may occur once the maximum usable capacity has been reached."

Despite which they have sold over 2,500 of them  :palm:

How dare you slander the PRC and accuse it of making fake products!

All products are rigorously tested to meet U.S.A. import and sales standards, and comply with all capitialist pig specifications!!!   :rant:
