« on: February 24, 2019, 10:45:21 pm »
Hello,

I'm on the search for a good Oscilloscope on a tight budget. I saw someone selling and Yokogawa DL1540CL Oscilloscope. Has anyone any experience with this Brand or Oscilloscope ?

Here are the specs

Thank you very much for your attention

Yokogawa is a really great scope manufacturer, in my previous department we had over $300,000 worth of yokogawa scopes/data recorders/power analyzers.
I liked them so much I bought a DL7200 and use it as my primary scope at home.  I've used the DL2000(newer version of the DL1540) and it was definitely my favorite due to screen size/portability.  The only problem I ran into was that the discontinued models will have zero support from Yokogawa service, and certain parts can be hard to find.  There won't be any schematics, but nothing has failed in my scope since i bought it.

This is a great scope. We had one at work like 10 years ago. Would still be perfectly usable today. Beware it has limited sample rate (200Msps max IIRC), but if it fits your requirements, it's pretty good otherwise. It also is much lighter and smaller than most of its competitors of the day, so it will not take a big chunk of your bench space.
