Our work on history of speech and signal processing:

FFT RT analyzers for pitch, formants, speech spectrograms.

Easily avail pgms for PC, W10 etc.

If the end purpose is just to have a pretty, dancing light (LED) display that more or less corresponds to the 32 various audio frequencies, why on earth are you using Fourier transforms?

32 OP amps, each forming a band pass filter then a gain stage so you can dial each one in and finally an audio/vu meter circuit driving the LEDs.

Yea, yea, yea, I know it isn't digital. SO WHAT? It WILL work. And it's a lot easier to design.

I agree.  You should always go the easiest route.  Why do something if you can't profit from it?

By the way, anyone interested in a lightly-used granny?  I'd be willing to sell her for a fiver; I don't have enough of a use for her anymore.
