I just recapped a Topfield PVR. Completely including the 400V one, I don't like the Samxon junk they put in there. I used Rubycon ZL/YXF and Panasonic FC/FM/FR.

There were some bulgers before. It would work but if you tried to access the menu it would reboot, and the hard disk would not spin up.

OHL can be good for a quick repair, and if you do not have them then pretty much any one will do in a pinch. I have bought the RS branded ones, and they are reasonable, or at least last longer than the Crapxon ones.

When I repaired my first monitor by replacing the Crapxon capacitors, I was ignorant and simply ordered any old capacitor that was the same or higher voltage rating, the same capacitance, and fit in the space of the old one.   They were good brands, however.

Later, I realized my mistake, and painstakingly researched low ESR, high ripple current, long life, and made the best choices I could.

Both sets of monitors are still working, but that's not surprising - they lived a long time with the  Crapxons, so I suppose the circuit was well designed.

Hitano EXR range caps are fine for most low ESR applications.
I've used thousands of them in switch mode power supplies with practically zero returns.
