Our Farm Bureau just announced that they are very upset that farmers. And the agriculture mega industry did not have a seat at the planning table. They also proclaim that 29% of US farms do not have sufficient internet access to run with the program. Farmers love drones for crop survey. Once the construction and survey folks wake up to this, my bet is all hell breaks loose with the K Street Lobbyists getting involved. Ouch. Steve |

This is worth linking to as well https://arstechnica.com/tech-policy/2020/02/new-faa-drone-rule-is-a-giant-middle-finger-to-aviation-hobbyists/ as is having a read through the comments section. This unfortunately is how the media (and some dills) has driven perception in a lot of cases. The AMA not being on the front foot in the mainstream media as a go to source for information can not of helped. --- Quote ---So, for years it's been pointed out that if hobbyists didn't stop behaving like assholes and flying their drones in areas where they shouldn't (forest fires, national parks, crowded pedestrian areas, and so on) that the inevitable result would be stringent regulation due to an inability of the community as a whole to behave themselves. And here we are. This comes as no surprise at all. --- End quote --- |

Site surveys, real estate, bonafide professional filming, agriculture and a host of other legitimate uses need all be permitted in legislation. |
