Forum hidden viewers

In the screenshot below there are a few oddities. I am the only member looking at that thread, and there are 10 guests looking at it. 1:10 surprises me, but is probably transient

But what is a "hidden" viewer?

I expect the answer is obvious, so simply point me to it

BB forums have an option to hide your username from those lists.
But I went through all those goddamn preferences and can't find it

I was wondering what kind of paranoid people use it but this explanation makes perfect sense

Each client that doesn’t store cookies is being counted separately with each requests it makes. That mostly includes web crawlers and in a thread of 1.3k pages it is likely to have many of them at the same time.
