For the life of me, I don't want to start another "show us your cat"

(Which I love B.T.W.)
However, I've often thought about how impersonal Forums can be... I UNDERSTAND if certain
people want/need anonymity, for many reasons... but I've always liked the thought of putting
a 'Face' to the many people we regularly hear from !!

For what it's worth... here's me !!!

Wartz & all...
Living outside of Perth, Australia now. (In Bunbury). 63 y/o. Med retired.
We recently had a 'commitment' ceremony, as opposed to a wedding. (I'm on the right, haha...)

Recently, I've seen a few members who have made their forum profile pictures an actual photo of themselves.

Of course, it's not ~necessary~, but it is nice to put a name to a face, even if we'll never meet.

NIce photo of yours, thanks, I like it and you've gained some sympathy points. I must admit, having seen a photo can cause spontaneous sympathy or antipathy for a person. Anyway, I won't post a photo of mine in public accessible space for general privacy reasons. There's no reason to hide myself from authorities or whatever, so I'd happily meet any forum member in real life - but no photo or any other private information about me in this or any other forum. For the same reasons, I stay away from anything that looks like social media, cloud, whatever ...

Anyway, I appreciate your idea.

I am one of the rare people here who use my real name and real photo.
The photo was taken by a work-mate who was testing a new camera.
My facial expression shows me in mid-eye-roll.

Ah Bunbury, nice little town. We get over to WA regularly to see our son in Warnbro a bit south of Perth.
Last time in Bunbury we bumped into some fabric reps that knew the wife and lived only a few km from us in NZ.

4000km trip to meet our locals.

Only been here 6 years, so not classed as a 'local' yet !!
You mentioned "Fabric Reps". My 'missus' is heavily into Embroidery, and often relies on me for
