How do world citizens store their resistors? Not SMD types.

That's pretty much my setup right now, I find they don't seem to really sell those nice mini drawer systems here.  There are some but they are kinda crappy.

I saw a few youtube videos of carpenters that made their own modular drawer/box systems with plywood, I want to eventually do that.  I will make various jigs and tooling to make them easy to make, and just make a bunch.  The nice thing with something custom is you can repeat it.  Anything you buy these days, they only make it for so long then you can't find the same kind anymore, so it's hard to have a consistent system. 

I would use this not just for electronics but pretty much everything.  Like screws.  I have screws all over the place, and there is pretty much no organization whatsoever.   Could inventory them in software too, and have full datasheets.  In the box/drawer I would also store a small piece of paper of the most important parts of the datasheet, like voltage/amp/watt rating, of whatever the item is. And the pin out.

How do you get the text on the boxes? On the right they are obviously labels, but on the pink/green ones the text has no background.

I prefer the Acro Mills storage cabinets with wide drawers.  With dividers, each drawer can hold 3 decades of resistors.

You just have to label them and figure out how you want to store them. Making a tube rack is pretty easy, or you can buy one. Sewing elastic loops into some kind of folder or display board would be an option. Or stick them in a box about the right size to keep the lot of them upright.

Yep a rack is the way to go.
