On February 14, 2024, the Court of Appeal of Paris issued an order stating that Orange, a major French telecom provider,
had infringed the copyight of Entr’Ouvert’s Lasso software and violated the GPL, ordering Orange to pay €500,000 in
compensatory damages and €150,000 for moral damages.

Don't get too excited, in a not-too-distant future, companies will turn to "AI-generated" software only, which will have no licensing attached even if it's just a patchwork of open-source software.

Wouldn't surprise me if french legislation goes after such AI generated crap as well.
Just yesterday i heard that France is looking to establish restrictions against "fast" and "Ultra-Fast" "fashion" companies, that are producing tons over tons of cheap once wearable trash.
