I was really looking forward to watching this in the movies...but it's this kind of
vectoralist bullshit that really pisses me off and refuse to patronize on principle.
Asian Tigers, Tiger Cubs, Dubai, Lebanon, Turkey and Russia will be the first on the list--a whole week before US/CA--whilst Japan is listed as dead last, not being released for months after the fact.
I hope they use the actual GI Joe toy from the 60's as the star of the movie.
It would be a big letdown if they used a fake GI Joe.
It's bullshit, yeah. Asia-Pacific always gets to be dead last. It's even worse with DVDs.
One of the many reasons why zero-day torrents exist.

In this case, the majority of Asia-Pacific, with the exception of the English speaking nations and Japan, are a week ahead of the release's producing nation. I suspect funding has something to do with it.
If film release was world wide simultaneously there would be less pirating also releasing DVD in regional formats is just plain stupid.
amspire's right. Screw the actors - do the movie with old GI Joe's, hand animated. Their fixed plastic faces would be more believable than most of the acting you see in those movies.
I recently dug my Joes out of storage. They're great! I've been trying to get all that stuff together to auction. Though I am thinking of keeping the Jeep because it is so cool.
Gotta go... doing a briefing with the "team" and then we're going to do a big mission!
You just had to have the GI Joe Jeep. I also remember the flame thrower backpack. And the wetsuit and diving mask.
I saw some bits of the trailer. Nothing like GI Joe at all - definitely an imposter. I assume he will be responsible for massive destruction and death while pretending to be on the side of America.
Richard.
Well, I guess that was expected from an industry that mandated region coded DVDs and players...
And now comes this HDCP crap, so that someone who has an older HD TV has to buy a new one to enjoy the full quality contents even if there is no technical reason for it.
