Title: Galaxy G2-20 house alarm
Post by: snipersquad100 on June 29, 2014, 10:02:58 pm
I have recently got hold of a used Galaxy 2-20 alarm system. The default user code (1234) works but the engineers default code (112233) does not. Is the away to reset the system to factory reset mode.? Thanks

I'm guessing there may be a jumper somewhere inside of it to do a factory reset.

edit: found this on another forum with a bit of googling, not sure what they mean by "reprogram the whole system"

if you access the end station try the following

 remove mains
 remove battery

put a link between 0v and tamper on the siren out pins on the pcb

remove connections to zone 1 (1001)

defeat panel tamper switch, put the end station panel screw in place
then power the panel up bay battery first then mains

 enter default code 1234 (or12345)
 this should silence the system
 then ESC
then enter default engineers code 1122 or 112233 depends on software version
 then ENT
enter engineer code again that should default back to factory

BE AWARE BY DOING THIS YOU NOW HAVE TO REPROG THE WHOLE SYSTEM

do not do this unless you have either an engineers book or have knowledge of the system

There is also something on another forum that mentions having EAROM replaced, I'm guessing that is done by sending it to Honeywell, but maybe there is a default rom dump or something online *shrugs*

Thanks for the reply, I seen that but it didn't work. I not sure if I did it right. The tamper (T marked on the board) which it want's you to set low with a link to 0v is already at 0v.

Is this an ADT panel?

Try shorting zone 1, and remove bell tamper, power it down and power back up battery 1st.
