Just a matter of time now, Google bought Boston Dynamics:

I for one welcome our new robotic overlords.

Next step: Rename Google to Omni Consumer Products.

So, the Terminator was really sent back in time to kill anyone using ad blocking?

The "do not track" setting in my browser just took on a different meaning...

Google now has:

 - More computing power than God
 - Self driving cars (which means self driving trucks, tanks you name it)
 - Robotic dogs to carry endless amounts of ammo

And most importantly:

 - Terminator robots    :scared:

Apparently still hiding the time machine.

If Google buys NASA, Scaled Composites or SpaceX next we're all screwed.

We are Borg, formerly known as Google. You will be assimilated. Resistance is futile.

Google now has:
 - Self driving cars (which means self driving trucks, tanks you name it)
 - Robotic dogs to carry endless amounts of ammo

So this must be googles worst enemy, non-robotic dogs driving cars themselves

And yes, it is real. The dogs are actually controlling the cars themselves

Very impressive but they're not actually driving the car in any useful, independent way. The handler is telling the dog which of its trained moves to perform - and the car even then ends up off the track.

Seems like someone in google decided to start defining just what evil is,

Bows down before overlords, as they are the most likely at this point to bring the world closer to sci-fi novels and overcome social inertia

Human sized robots are really klunky. How about a tiny one that can shred you from navel to nose on the inside?
Start right now.

Anybody know if this is Google's first involvement with the military?

BDI strikes me as a very bizarre acquisition for Google. It'll be interesting to see if they are just buying them for IP and they'll continue letting them do their military thing, or if they'll steer them towards other goals.

The article i read said they have no plans to deal with the military but will honor all current BD military commitments.

I cant help but wonder how annoyed the military are at this.
