Selecting a suitable Schottky / Blocking Diode...

When using a Schottky diode "ONLY" in reverse bias, is voltage the only rating that's important?

No, the problem with schotkkys is their high leakage current and increasing with temperature, so I'd say they are the worst diode to choose for just "blocking"
