Title: Great Android apps for electronics
Post by: VK3DRB on August 29, 2014, 01:03:53 pm
Hi.

I have a superb application for my Samsung S3... RealCalc. I bought the full version which has some nice extra features, but more importantly it rewards the developers for making a great app. It is ideal for embedded programming and circuit design.

Here is a list of my must haves...

RealCalc :-+
ASCII (A simple but effective ASCII table)
Electrodroid
Opamp Calculator
Wifi Analyser (Really useful to find conflicting Wifi channels from neighbours)
Flashlight (Helps light up PCB top overlays in dark places)

Are there any other really useful apps out there for electronics engineers, technicians, enthusiasts and fanatics?
What app would YOU never do without?

Droid48, an HP48 series emulator. RPN!

Here's a tip: To get a super-macro closeup of something with a smartphone camera that can't focus closely, carefully place a small drop of water onto the lens. Surface tension keeps the water lens in place and perfectly domed. This will allow focus down to a few mm, giving you a cheap virtual microscope. Try it! As a bonus, this app is available for Andriod, iOS or any other POS with a puny little lens.

The RealCalc upgrade has RPN mode... and you can set which registers to display.
