I had a broken battery cover on my Garmin 60CSX GPS. The unit was well out of warranty so I emailed Garmin last Thursday asking if they could supply a replacement. I had a reply on the Friday saying they could supply this and asked for my address. It arrived on Saturday. They didn't ask for a serial number, nor when it was bought and didn't charge me a penny. That's what I call customer service.

Dear Deephaven:
--Garmin is a great company, they are the best in their field. They are the Fluke of the GPS business. I have an 86 Nissan Pickup with a bad speedometer cable, a chronic problem with these trucks. The cable makes a sharp right angle at the speedometer and there is no slack. They cannot be repaired and they are too costly to buy. Solution, a slightly used touch screen Garmin Street Pilot C340 from eBay for $36, shipping included. Now I have a speedometer, and a GPS to boot.

My dad uses a Garmin Something can't remember which one but one of the cheaper models many years back (3.2" i guess?)
Still runs like a horse and the ability to select any GPS firmware is fantastic
