Title: Has Xeltek gone belly-up?
Post by: WhatRoughBeast on January 03, 2019, 11:51:15 pm
As the title suggests, has something happened to Xeltek? I attempted to buy a programmer from them 2 weeks ago via Amazon, and after several days Amazon emailed me that Xeltek had not responded to the order.

Last week I emailed them, and have heard no reply.

Today I phoned, and the Operator, Sales and Tech Support options go to voicemail. The on-line tech support chat is off-line. All of this at 3:30 on a Thursday afternoon.

The company website does not have an announcement that (for instance) the plant is shut down for two weeks for Xmas and New Years.

I find nothing on the web about them closing, but this may reflect on my Google-fu, or lack thereof.

Am I the last to get the joke?

It looks like Xeltek Inc is just a distributor now in the US and imports the hardware. There is a separate Xeltek in China who designs + manufactures all of the hardware.

Doesn't look good for Xeltek Inc with the lack of order fulfilment, voicemail and Digikey listing that once the current stock of Xeltek products runs out, it'll be going special order with minimum order requirements. Xeltek have been trying to rent out one of their offices since September (https://www.loopnet.com/Listing/1296-Kifer-Rd-Sunnyvale-CA/13917640/) (looks to be the founder of Xeltek?). There is a definitely closing down vibe there.

Their Facebook and Twitter pages have had a post mid December so somebody was around recently though.
