Have you ever seen a cat on top of a spectrum analyzer?
« on: October 08, 2012, 03:05:10 am »
My cat seems to love doing this. I have also seen him on top of the oscilloscope when I am not paying attention!

I would love to get my Sadie to sleep on top of my old Tek 465 next to my bench, but alas, she much prefers either my lap or right in front of my soldering station...

That is great!

My cat is terrified of the soldering iron. He tried to attack it in rapid paw slaps! I have also caught him chewing on my active probe once... My 3-GHz active probe has teeth marks!

we had problems with our cat sleeping on laptops, so we made her a heating pad, it worked! :)

We did the same thing, a blanket plus a heated pet pad inside it.

We have 3 short hair black cats, they are full of mischief most of the time.  Your picture is great!  Maybe the heat of the instrument attracted her.

Great Picture! ! ! !

Delicate electronic machinery are butt warmers to them. It can be worth thousands and in the end it's all still a butt warmer. Lucky it's not getting sprayed. Most males, especially those not fixed would spray it in an instant because that DSO is now theirs. It warmed their butt. LOL Giving them a heating pad (also mentioned in here) seems to be the course of action to prevent cat hair and other contaminants from clogging up and damaging your DSO.

My cat is trying to catch that running green spot.

cats like warm things ... and walking over keyboards...

now, there is a problem with that. make sure the cat doesn't wee on a piece of equipment with burst caps in it.... older equipment that has leaky cap's smell like cat wee, and kitty may just want to mark it as his or her's .....

I have quiet a bit of equipment which my cat likes to sleep on. Sometimes while I use them. I have to regularly vacuum stuff to make sure his hair is not in there.

I have found a way to keep him off lately, put double sided tape on some locations, he hates that!
