Help I'd connector please?
« on: December 24, 2017, 12:04:53 am »
Good day- I have a tractor that is 12 volts that has a white connector. I cannot attach it here as the file is too big. Please email me at semerm12@gmail.com and I will send it to you. I want to add a light and need the opposite connector to connect to. Anyone know what it is called and where I can get one? Reply appreciated.

It sounds like you're attempting to upload an unedited and huge file. Please reduce the size of your file by appropriately cropping and resizing and selecting a favourable file format. You could use a program for this or a site like the one linked below.

I'm sorry, can't ID it,looks like a Molex, but Molex makes hundreds of automotive type connectors. Your best bet is to go buy a mating pair of automotive, 2 pin connectors rated at 15 amps from your local electronics or even automotive parts store. Cut that one off and replace it. If you are short on length, splice a short bit (>=160mm to be safe) of 14 AWG? multi-stranded copper wire in to make up the length.

Yes, that was my next question. Is there any objection to replacing the plug with a known connector?

When you go down to the parts store, show those pictures. You might get lucky and it's something they can match easily. You can always do plan B if that doesn't work.

Brumbly- that looks like it but I see it only can be shipped to Australia, darn. I'll see if I can find it at a local artist parts store. Thanks everyone!

It's a pretty common connector style.  I've seen it frequently used in cars - especially older ones.

You have given no indication as to where you are, so I just looked generally and this was just the first hit I got.  I expect there will be other places around the world that are going to have it.

I told my friends I could teach them to be funny, but they all just laughed at me.

The title might help with some further searches, but if the 250 refers to the size of the connector blade, then I think you will find that a couple of male 1/4" spade connectors will fit in there quite nicely - but this won't have the polarising body or the retaining clip.

I'm pretty sure those connectors are also made by utilux, at least in the Australia and NZ region.
