Title: Help identifying connector from 1970s
Post by: mabl on December 30, 2018, 03:41:00 pm
Hi all,

I have recently acquired some very British equipment from the 1970s. Unfortunately it features connectors I do not know :-//. I would appreciate help identifying them and if possible find a source.

Anyone got an idea? Help is very much appreciated!

Ex-military equipment ?
Those connectors look very similar to the Plessey Mk4/Mk7 style of connectors typically used for mains on old british military equipment.

It looks to me like Tuchel barrel connectors which also I see on the ex-military equipment link the above.

See attachment I found an old image link from an Ebay listing that no longer exists

Thank you both for the fast help. It looks to me like the Plessey Mk4 are the closest fit. Unfortunately, the three way connectors on electrojumble are out of stock... But this points me into the right direction.  :-+

Ex-military equipment ?

Its a Cambridge Stereoscan 600 electron microscope, one of the first commercial ones. In early state of restoration.

I'm also restoring an S600 and have got it working (somewhat!).  I've scanned the manuals and made up an extender card - if there's anything I might be able to assist you with, please just let me know.

Wow, that is cool! Mine is working too somewhat. I'd be happy to exchange notes and data!
