Help me to understand the right way to place thermistor and fuse for ac circuit
(1/1)
radhika:
Greetings, I am working on 220V AC to  12V 10A DC SMPS circuit design. For reference I am using http://danyk.cz/reverz44_en.html this circuit.
I am using UC3842 IC for switching. But, I am unable to understand the placement of fuse and thermistor. In some/few circuit of SMPS, fuse and thermistor connected in series, in other circuit fuse connected first and later thermistor connected after choke inductor.

Please help me to undetand the behaviour and functioning of these two, thermistor and fuse in series as well as parallel.

Thanks
S. Petrukhin:
It does not matter on which part of the circuit to install the thermistor, the current in the entire circuit is the same. The thermistor is used to limit the charging current of the smoothing capacitor in the rectifier. But it is good practice not to break the zero power wire. On the specified circuit, the fuse is placed unsightly, it must be transferred to the phase wire.
