Help with Motorola IC

(1/2) > >>

christoskag:
Hello . I am new in the forum . I have a glow plug module for repair. It has an entire 20pin IC Motorola SC94502CP . I can't find a datasheet . Can anybody help me please? I need only pinout . Pin 1 is ground at pin2 and 3 applying 5V .

As I understand "SC" is custom with no information?

Benta:
Yep, Motorola SCxxxxx or ZCxxxxx are custom parts, in most cases a mask-programmed MCU. If you post photos it might be possible to identify the basic MCU, but that still leaves the firmware inside which can not be read.

Infraviolet:
Someone might be able to make some guesses as to what the IC does and what other MCU might be pin compatible which you could resolder in to place (with your own custom code flashed on them to replicate the old functionality) if you can work out a schematic and post it of which pin of the chip connects to what.

Is there a date code on the chip or any adjacent chips? Knowing the manufacture date might help narrow down the range of possible chips. Please advise the connections to a few other pins to also narrow down the selection i.e. is there a crystal or ceramic resonator connected to the chip?

Based on just the package size and the power and ground pins locations it could be one of the MC6804J or MC68HC04J series family.
