Hoarder of 8-bit Commodore relics and 1960s Tektronix 500-series stuff. Unconventional interior decorator.

  Nope, I've never seen anything like it and worked with a lot of the very early ICs back in the day.  I wonder what kind of socket it fit?  I notice that the pads on the top of the IC also use a different spacing than the pins. 

   Have you contacted the seller to see if they can tell you more about where the IC came from or was used for?

I suppose when you're AT&T you can just order custom packages for your custom ICs.

Looks like it might be two DIP36 patterns overlapped?
