Hey Dave!

Check this out!

Seems like a great way to funnel government money via grants/tax breaks/subsidies!

Wonder when we'll get one in Quebec?

Check out

This is a recent episode on the EEVBlog where Dave discusses and debunks some myths concerning the Dutch solar roadway project and its projected payback period.

While you're at it, take a look at the forum thread concerning the video's discussion

You mean the workers paradise doesn't already have this?

Too useful for Quebec.

We'd design it with the panels facing down. Then have a big inquiry to find out who designed it that way but will achieve nothing. In the meantime, some company with a different name but the same address will fix it for ten times the initial cost.

Granted, it's only 4 days old but I think Dave has his fill with solar pathways as well :)

No in Quebec the panels would never last with the crater sized potholes we have here.  They can't even fix these vehicle swallowing potholes do you think they could ever invest money in a solar highway?

Give it to Hydro, they'll find a way to generate electricity at 1$ per KwH and sell it for 5 cents to the US (for accounting tricks), and then turn around and ask for a rate hike from its hydro users...

Quebec would be better to follow Ontario's example, where they have used nuclear power to move to genuine, honest, affordable, real-world practical no-bullshit 100% coal-free power generation.

Nonsense, we have hydro. Remove the corrupt Quebec-style management and it's excellent.

1) Make sure nuclear power plants are well maintained and built with the knowledge that we have gained in the last 50 years.
2) Don't build nuclear power plants on seismically active land. (Sorry Japan, you're out!)
With those rules in mind, we most likely won't see another "Fukushima".
Whoa! How the hell did Dave know that Bob is my uncle? Amazing!

Unfortunately nuclear power plants don't fair well with Murphy's Law: Anything that can go wrong will go wrong. As we have seen from past experience.
