I would disagree with the statement(s).

The position of one planet and one star in particular has a rather large effect on each and every one of us in many ways.

And also, Voltaire, religion is no wise mother, religion is nothing worth even thinking about.

But if i plan on sending a probe to Jupiter, won't the positions of the planets affect how hard the trajectory would be to follow, and thus affect my life?

religion is nothing worth even thinking about.

It can be important if you need to socialize/do business/sleep with religious people.  Of course, that is no excuse to start believing in it yourself.
