Title: How a CRO CRT works (Video).
Post by: the_raptor on February 16, 2011, 05:54:28 pm
I found this fascinating video showing how the display of classic analog scopes work over on Lady Ada's blog and decided to nick it.

Cathode ray tube disassembly and explanation (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E55h2JCuCWk#ws)

It amazes me to think of the amount of engineering skill that went into creating something which is considered so primitive these days.

Sorry, I used the forums /youtube tags which worked fine in preview but apparently when it gets posted the forum software munges it and makes it not work. Using /url tags worked fine.

Interesting video!

Slightly off topic, I use a greasemonkey script called Embedifier (http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/76350) that makes life easy for embedded stuff. Might be worth a look for those who get exhausted with page hopping to see things.
