How do I filter large youtube channels lacking playlists
« on: May 01, 2020, 08:54:37 am »
Many youtube channels do not have playlists, and even then nor do the playlists provide a perfect navigation system. Some active channels will have 2-3 posts per week, which amounts to a lot of videos over a few years. With infinite scroll it becomes difficult to resume a channel you are exploring (especially at a later date).

Features I would like to use is keyword (like "Chicken" in a cooking Channel, "pests" in a gardening channel), and date added (I would like to browse Feb 2017-May 2017 in a session for example)

I understand that Youtube was not built for large channels, and these are pretty much the exception. Google pushes search as the navigation element. This does bury exploring content. Does anyone know of a site or tool that does allow one to query the Youtube API by providing the channel name (for example https://www.youtube.com/user/EEVblog or https://www.youtube.com/user/adafruit) which would return a listing of video captions with url/video ID (and dates)?

A cursory look shows that there are Youtube API's would allow one to implement the listing (https://developers.google.com/youtube/v3/docs/videos/list and it seems at a price). If anyone is aware of of a website already providing the service please let me know.

Ideally I would like Youtube to make a proper filter for the channels. I don't think that is going to happen.

Embarrassed Edit : Apparently there is a Search Function so the keyword issue is resolved. Still looking for a text listing without infinite scroll.
