What kind of bulb is it? It's hard to tell from the picture, but it seems like it might be a neon lamp? Night light?

No. I think its a standard light bulb. I need to clean it some more.
I can just make out the word  "Philips"

It looks like an early tungsten filament so I guess it around 1910-1925, but it is hard to tell from the picture.

Does it go?

If you try it, use a low voltage supply like a variac and wind it up slowly. There's a good chance if you just whack 240 V up it it will perish instantly.

And the mains voltage might not have been 240V at that time either.

... and it depends if it was before or after the light-bulb consortium to limit bulb life.
Not easy, not hard, just need to be incentivised.

Still a nice find, I wonder if it's possible to get inside and fit a new filament somehow.
Google carefully first though, could be one of those things worth more broken but untouched.

For a nice perspective here is a rare Philips movie from 1924 black/white no sound how they made the bulbs by hand and mouth.
From 2 minutes onwards if you have no time to see the entire intro  ;)
