It's a joke. The OP isn't confused. The premise being someone cocked up the production run with all the colours being wrong, and marketing came up with a clever solution to cover it up.

A factory is not perpetual; they are able to stop production and fix errors. I doubt this, but hey - I don't really care enough to continue.

Yes, because QA is tasting candy every 20 seconds, right?. They produce tonnes of them by the minute and by the time QA picks it up, management might have decided to just print a diff package. It's a joke post either way, Einstein.

There is a candy company  in US that has a "mystery flavor" ... basically when they change batches, instead of cleaning the vats and throwing away what's still inside, they just add the new batch over and the first output gets titled "mystery flavor" :
