Not seen that movie since film club in college, 1976.

They made a new version of it about 10? years ago.  From what I recall, it wasn't bad but it was never as popular as the original.

There were parts of the movie I hated, but all-in-all a much smarter movie/story than was or is typical of Hollywood.  Michael Crichton was apparently something of a dick as a human being, but he was in the upper echelon of writers in the science area.  Most of the problems I had with the movie was down to Hollywood and there tendencies to dick with the story.

In stark contrast to the predator

I want the next one to be like a full on comedy like the first scary movie now lol.. they included basically a doofy troop without it being a parody. I dont know how to raise the bar further, maybe predators riding around on war elephants with cassette players.. not a bad movie but i was expecting some serious gritty action thriller.. similar dna concept to the andromeda strain though.

The andromeda strain had a realistic vibe to it. A tripple remake would have president brump tweeting about the plane crashes lol.

Sometimes it sucks how these good movies are stuck in the past... its like yea you want a plausible movie? Fuck you go to 1950 again.

I do think maybe critics did get harsher with scifi though, because its easy to get top level knowledge about a theoretical system,on the internet in 30 seconds and formulate an opinion based on that without taking the considerations which resulted in pecularities which can actually make it more interesting.

I got a backlog of film reviews that irritated me going back like a decade that need debunking... the biggest hurt to scifi is that people dont realize there is literarly  an office space behind every new technology..

Yea that part of the battlemech s not armored because a tps report was not filled in in time.get over it.
