It's curious that this video was uploaded almost 6 years ago, yet it seems that youtube started to recommend it only now.
I have just watched it for the first time because of this too: it popped up in my recommendations. Coincidence? I don't think so :)

p.s. I want to have one of those big ass irons.

Oh good grief, I am not sure I really needed that reminder.

I was visiting a friend a few years back and got drafted to solder up a simple cable to finish servicing his car, a cable that had a couple 2.5mm diameter automotive contacts on it. I used one of those irons for the job because that is all he had. The tip was at least five times wider than, well, necessary but somehow I managed.

When I asked about a heat gun for the heat shrink, he said he did not have one. So I let him set the shrink with a couple matches.

I have noticed that recommendations on youtube are closely related to what's going on on the forum, at least the things I look at.  :-DD
Big companies at work, but with ublock_origin I got rid of the pesky adverts, so thanks to members here for advising that one.  :)

My dad had a fairly big one, but not as big as the one used for sealing that box. Can't remember where or why it was dumped. Not that I have had the need for it in many years.
