Proxys and DNS services for Netflix.
« on: January 02, 2017, 05:19:13 am »
Hey,

The NZ and OZ catalogues on Netflix are just pityful compared to the US one.  And it used to be easy to get around that, but now, sigh, its not.

Whos got some solution that works..
On a quest to find increasingly complicated ways to blink things

If your looking for a VPN, Celo.net is what I use.
I forget who I am sometimes, but then I remember that it's probably not worth remembering.

Your flag says you're in USA. Are you saying you've recently (as in past few months) successfully used celo.net to access US Netflix from abroad? And what about on a device (like a Chromecast or Apple TV) to use Netflix on a TV?

Historically I used Unlocator for this, but it now works only on computer web browsers, thanks to Netflix's changes.

You unsubscribe from Netflix and enjoy CouchPotato and Sick Beard.

Yeah, um, no. You've obviously not kept up to date with Netflix's original series, many of which are superb. That and the whole thing that Netflix just works, unlike the hit-or-miss piracy option.

Yes. If the Netflix originals catch on, they could be superb. They didn't for me.
That, and I don't have time for many series, even when they are on-demand.
That's why I like movies, when I have time. However, movies are expensive for Netflix.

I used Netflix for a long time. But once they blocked VPN users, the catalog become a monument.

I don't use Netflix and I probably never will. I had it long ago when I rented DVDs (Yes, those strange disc things, I still use them on a somewhat regular basis for computing) from them.

I use Amazon Prime for The Grand Tour, and I use my own personal collections of movies and TV shows along with Youtube as entertainment. I haven't touched TV in a few months.

Anything worth watching is available on your favorite torrent site. We have a Netflix account as well but I never bothered to use Netflix' own application. I wouldn't even know how it works. I never bothered because I doubt it allows to do things like dynamics compression & tone control on the audio like VLC can.
There are small lies, big lies and then there is what is on the screen of your oscilloscope.

I have no patience to deal with download sites, and I want to watch on the TV (in my case, via Apple TV), not on my computer. I'm happy to pay Netflix for the convenience and reliability, it'd just be nice to be able to access the US catalog as well. If anyone can help with that, instead of suggesting piracy and whatnot, I'd be grateful.
