Play IL-2 on realistic settings, you have to start the engines one at a time and make sure that each engine is running fine before you start up the next one. It only takes a few minutes for the engines to all be running fine on a many engine aircraft but its more of the checklist and procedures that arent related to the engine as shown in the video such as GPS, flight path and calculations, testing and all that stuff and finally the que to use the runway and air traffic control.

Turn on battery. Turn on LP fuel valve. Turn on HP fuel valve. Make sure throttle is in idle position. Press and hold start button for 8 seconds, and you will have ignition, and a running engine. Check your pressures are correct, and the EGT is rising smoothly to operation range, along with the hydraulic temperatures. Make sure you turn the AC on, not for you, but for the electronics.

Interesting fact is the HP and LP fuel valves are motorised valves, they need power to change position.  Thus, if you turn the battery off, the engine will not shut down, although most of the instrumentation supplied with battery power will go off. The AC powered stuff will still be on.

There's one for an A320 that is at least in a full size simulator somewhere :)

Damn I love those illuminated switches! Why can't someone design domestic light switches like that? There is something satisfying about an aircraft cockpit, more switches and dials you can poke a stick at!

Only one thing better than a radial engine, and that is having 4 of them.

Such amazing death traps.

Only the French could come up with an engine like that. Let's make an engine where the block itself spins instead of the crankshaft. "But Pierre, now throttle is difficult, what now?" Well, just interrupt the ignition, so the engine can be off, half power or full power. "But Pierre, now it will spray unignited fuel and oil out of the exhausts?" Yes, give the pilot some goggles and a scarf to use as a wipe. "But Pierre, this spinning mass makes the plane difficult to handle?" Aha, you can use the instant flipping tendecy to quickly engage enemies!

Is that from where I think it's from, the Golden Age Air Museum at Grimes Field? That looks like the DR.1 replica they built.
