Well, I don't know if there are people affected or that will be affected by this Hurricane but if yes, keep yourself and your families safe. |

Before believing hysterical media hype, always check weather sites like https://www.ventusky.com/?p=29.56;-92.65;8&l=wind-10m https://earth.nullschool.net/#current/wind/surface/level/orthographic=-89.66,31.82,3000/loc=-92.821,29.488 For one thing, the media like to quote max wind speeds for at least 1000m up, where the wind is _much_ faster than at ground level. Currently the max ground level wind speed is about 90 MPH. |

Since it also aggregates the official warnings and reports from the Joint Typhoon Warning Center it's always the official without the media hype. |

Laura at landfall had 150 mph wind speed which ties for #5 all time worst. This one seems to be going a little more north than usual according to predictions and probably won't affect me much. I had never been in a hurricane until Katrina and I'm perfectly fine with never seeing another one. |
