People, I am long enough in this forum to realize , that we have good quality of members.

Good quality =  educated + good characters + positive charged + clean language + humor + they can take teasing ...

And even the ones that does not know how to tease in English,
they get trained , like @shafri does..   

I have only one complain .. related with the public user profile of some members.
It looks that they hate to write down , their country and age ..

All that I can tell , are that by adding this info , you are helping the other members,
so to help you with more specific answers , in anything related with suggestion of products or services.
And helps even of finding people of your own country.

Personally from now and on , I will stop replying to any one with blank profile.
In my eyes looks like disrespect to hide your self that much.

I think thats the silliest thing i've read yet on the forum. Why on earth would anyone feel disrespected if you didn't fill in your age/location. We're not ASL'ing on AOL.

If its pertinent to the information given that you need to know something like, just take the initative and ask, don't just blindly label everyone who doesn't automatically do what you want. After all you mentioned they can take a teasing, i'm quite sure they'd answer age/location if you really needed to know.

Believe it or not , the "how to"  about building forums , was not my idea 
(adding fields about country and age)

Believe it or not , the forums are made by having in mind that the "people - members" will socialize.

If you are use to, to socialize with the mask of Zorro in your face , its your right to do so.

As about me , I am not going to ask 1000 members about their country and age..
As I had clearly explain , it serves their best interest to inform the community.

This is not dating webside. Anonymity is most big power in whole internet. Of course this have goods and bads. But why categorize peoples by age, profession, education... maybe next somebody want all peoples put they faces public. Of course example I am very very old. maybe you think that I can not do any things with AVR, PIC, FPGA etc... hah. Do you know what is biasing. Avoid biasing you need hide lot of things. More you tell who you are and wqhat is you education, what is your age, profession and other things..even political opinions and so on...more you get biasing. I think it is more clever to read only what peoples write and hide as much as possible all things what may produce biased opinions about what other peoples write.

I think more important is what peoples write. What you say is more important that who you are. If you know who write you go biased... you realize it or it affect as hidden biasing what is even more danger.

If I tell yopu that xxxx pin 18 voltage is between 11.99875 and 11.99923 V and 97% of 1000 samples are  between 11.99905 and 11.99917 and current is 170 - 180nA. What hell you need my age and country. Do you trust more if I tell you that I am Greek. If I am from Kiriwati or Philippines do you think I lie.

So, is it important who write or what he write? I have see lot of lies from well known scientists. I have seen well documented things from young hobbyist so that I can full trust. (and vice versa)

I agree with the majority here, and not with Kiriakos.
Whilst I have personally always fully identified myself on all online forums, and do have a better opinion of those who also do the same, I respect everyone's right to anonymity, and ultimately judge people based on what they say, not who they are or how they wish to identify themselves.
I think it's silly not to talk to someone on a forum simply they don't identify themselves, the content is what matters, but hey, each is free to chose what they want to do. So if Kiriakos wants to do that he can go right ahead, just don't expect anyone else to care or do the same!

well it is nice to know where someone is from but it's not much of a deal if you want to be anonymous, if thats so maybe your loss if we can't offer country specific solutions but I don't see the point in all the hoo haa over it. Of course you can generally spot young indian electronics students a mile off by their style of english and writing questions but then you may have to have good english yourself to tell the difference

To say to others "you must do this to participate" is somewhat dictatorial behaviour, and you have no right to enforce that on others.

It is my personal choice not to reveal every minor detail about my personal life on a public internet page.
Besides, if anyone does add an age, who's to say that age is factual and correct, likewise the country?

It really is a surprising attitude for someone of an alleged age of 41 that they will not answer others who rightfully choose not to reveal such details.....

Instead of that I got web links , to some other, more skilled and specialized forums.  
  
I am not keeping any hard feelings, to any one "speaking against" avatar ,

I totally agree  .... thats why no matter how hard some kids are trying to hide ,
their Corn Flakes boxes ...  the knowledgeable will always know the truth ..

About moderation ... is this another bluff or banana to step on it..?
I am a very dynamic man, productive,  and my last wish would be to moderating an kindergarten.
Even at the last recoded video of Dave ,  the 98% of the questions was ... what to study ? what to do ? where to go ?  

It looks like , that the young ones, just looking for guidance ...  I am hundreds steps ahead .. I have other needs.
