Wish there was something I needed to do. Na. Wish I was motivated.

Current stalled projects (the ones I remember at the moment!):
MAME cabinet (halted due to large amount of solder joints required. got bored about 1/2 way)
Android app (got banned from the play store  )
Setub websites after changing VPS providers (in part to re-host my android app)
Electroplating experiments (waiting for chemicals)
PCB etching experiments (not quite stalled actually, just got nothing to etch )
IR thermometer reverse/repair (I suspect faulty transistor, now I'm stuck trying to decide which one of those ebay transistor testers I want)
Cell phone LCD hack (a few kinds)
Full colour POV clock/weather/twitter/whatever display (needs wireless power & comms & some hardware I haven't got off my arse and bought yet)
Stirring hotplate (needs planning, and I want to use a cell phone screen)
EL wire dimming/colour change experiments (this might be easier now I have a function gen)
Rebuild favourite PC (using it in pieces in the lounge)

Next cab off the rank? Not sure. My MAME cabinet will have a car audio amp in it and I'm thinking of some UV LEDs to highlight the speakers. a few sort of high/low pass filter, peak detect and hold things that monitor the frequency of their corresponding channels and PWM accordingly. Maybe. I'm sure it's been done a gajillion times before, but it sounds like it might fall within my skill set at this stage, so I could just jump in and see what I come up with.

Though for what i loose all the interesting topics tend to keep me one step ahead when shit hits the fan on whatever I'm personally working on.

Would be great if there were a hackerspace in my town, or if I at least had a workshop / lab, just somewhere where you go to do stuff and somewhere separate from where you usually are when you're dicking around on the Internet.

On the flip-side I've recently have been given the opportunity to work on my very first "live" embedded project because of this forum!   So from a totally unrelated day job with a night-time hobby of electronics things are really getting interesting; and I'm really looking forward to working on my night-time DMM project.

Well... I have a mate called Dawson. I wrote an app to text him random insults at the press of a button. It was called FoD - Fuck off Dawson. I thought it'd be funny to put it on the play store.  And it was! People from all over the world were texting him. This was a year or two ago and I think he still gets the odd one.

Someone complained that it was bullying (something like that anyway). Dawson secretly loved the attention. I used to have the download stats pinned up in my local pub.

For the topic on hand, I carve out time for projects and time for dinking on the 'net.  I tend to be "all in" on either when engaging.
