Wow besides the temperature it has a cat Fur quality measurement mode as well!
There are small lies, big lies and then there is what is on the screen of your oscilloscope.

Yep, that's what the "F" indicates, you are measuring the "Fur" quality.

It also has "C", which indicates the instrument is in the "Claw" setting, where it can measure the sharpness of the animal's claws.

So that's what the laser is for, you point it at a friend so it can initiate a claw test.

Yes. It's a completely integrated system. The laser can be used for that, plus in addition, it can attract the animal's attention for any needed muscular activity after a period of brain shutdown.
