Hakko FX-8801 handpiece holder steampunked!

So after burning so many bits of junk on my busy (some say messy) workbench, including a nasty one to my pinky the other day when I stupidly shoved the holder during a ‘clear some space moment’ & made a split second contact with the iron, I mod’d the darn thing to prevent any more accidents.

Who likes the steampunk look?

Oddly enough, I've never had that problem, even though my workbench is very messy. Copper or aluminium tape might work quite well and will certainly be easier to implement.

  I can't say that I'm fond of the SteamPunk look but that does look good and I like the way that you twisted the wires and interlocked them at every junction.

why not drill holes and twist the wire in the end rather then all the screws
