Help identifying a T-shirt inscription
« on: October 15, 2014, 07:56:38 pm »
A bit random, but this forum is filled with smart people. And many Americans too (I presume) who should be more likely to help me.

So I found this t-shirt which I know (90% sure) it came from the US. What-the-hell does that mean? I don't know how to look it up...

Anyone recognizes it? Or is able to decipher  the message? :P

On the back it says:

Quote
Do not wish to be anything but what you are, and try to be that perfectly.

Well, there's an "Ape" and there's an "X" which gives us an "Apex". One of the Wikipedia definitions for Apex:

"Apex predator, a predator which sits at the top of a food chain"

Which kinda-sorta-almost corresponds with what you say is written on the back, perhaps...? Probably not ;)

Haha, could be... I thought it would be like a recognizable brand or logo. Many things come up looking for Apex or Ape X

Like this character of Marvel Apes?? http://www.comicvine.com/ape-x/4005-62707/

Or this night club http://mad-communications.co.uk/ape-x-prepare-to-celebrate-6th-birthday/

There are HUNDREDS of companies named Apex.

Maybe it's a tshirt of some small company or event. There are also many places in the US called Apex (according to Wikipedia).

Guess I'll never know where it came from :P

It's for a "Christian vaudeville" (their own words) Catholic evangelical act called APeX Ministries.  Take that how you will.

Googling for the quote plus 'apex' brings up their web store as the first result.

...forum is filled with smart people. And many Americans too...
This is the funniest line I've read all day.
A bit cruel, but nonetheless...
Don't ask a question if you aren't willing to listen to the answer.

hah! You know, as I was typing that, I knew that it would be misinterpreted. I rephrased it but apparently I didn't do a good job :P

I meant that there are many Americans here so they would be more likely to help me since the t-shirt came from the US :P I never meant to question their intelligence.
