I want to buy a solar panel
« on: December 10, 2022, 04:10:08 am »
Hello,
I have no idea where to buy from?
which brand is good?

I just want a solar panel in case of emergency and charging my phone.

Please suggest well known brands with good reputation, high efficiency.

Best Regards

Is it like a little single panel solar thing that you could take around with you?

Amazon, get at least 350 watt panel as under most conditions it will only produce a third of that, and if the weathers like it is today here nothing, as it is foggy so no wind either so a storage battery is a good idea as well.

Funny thing is I have a plain 15W panel, used to charge SLA batteries to camp, so that we can have light at night, and not run a generator or make car batteries dead. No charge controller, work in progress, but before Christmas power was out for half a week due to the substation being vandalised, so I needed to power the gate motor, so put this across the battery as it was, and the 0.8A charge kept it going for most of that time with no mains power. Estimate to charge the battery fully it would take a week, but it kept enough charge in to keep it partly charged.

What OP wants is basically a solar power bank, any number of them around, some good, most cheap and, as Dany would say, "Sooper Dodgy", and you just buy one off the river site, or off of the slow boat from the express, and guess the specs are overstated, safety is something they heard of, and quality control is "it did not blow up".

When it comes to installing solar panels, there are several brands and mounting systems available on the market. The most popular solar mounting system is a roof-mounted solar system installed on the roof. This is equally true for both residential and commercial solar panels. There is, however, a difference that stems from the type of roofs used in businesses and personal homes.

Look for 150 - 350 watt panels if you want a small one to use in specific situations or emergencies. Renogy, Go Power! or Jackery are the best options to find in Walmart or Amazon.
