Just got an email for Altium's "EDA Masters" road show, coming to a city near me.  Free food and cocktails, and maybe learning a thing or two about Altium?  Sounds alright to me.  At a local country club?  Fancy.  And prizes?  Let's see. . .

This is clearly targeted to bean counters, not engineers. But lets think about that statement. Most people doing board layout already know about Altium and would gladly use it. The ones that need convincing to plunk down the cash are the bean counters and MBA's. As a company strategy Altium may be doing the right thing. The product is already sold in the mind of the PCB designer. Its just his manager you have to convince to part with the cash.
