Identifying automotive connectors
« on: November 27, 2022, 04:29:15 am »
Hey guys,
I'm an auto electrician who often mucks around with car related electronics projects in my free time. I've had some luck in the past finding automotive connectors by searching the Yazaki and Sumitomo online catalogs, but I've finally came across some that I cannot find anywhere.

1649417-0

They are all from a Toyota. There is 3 sets of them (male and female). All physically identical and plug together, except for housing color (there's a light grey, dark grey and black version).
The female ones are all labeled "11273" and male "11272". I believe the genuine Toyota part numbers would be 90980–11272 and 90980–11273.
There is a logo that might be an "R" or a "K", I'm not sure?
They have a 2.3mm wide/0.64mm thick male terminal.

Does anyone recognize the logo or connector type? What other connector manufacturers commonly supply to the automotive industry, particularly Toyota?
Do you think these might have been made by or for Toyota specifically, and wont be available other than directly from Toyota?

Thanks in advance

Looks vaguely delphi like, and whilst googling Delphi flat pin I came across this site

They might be able to tell you what they are, I doubt they’re genuine at that price

I found plenty with similar features but none the same.
After going too far down the google rabbit hole I got a lucky break, they appear to be made by a company called Tokai Rika (https://www.tokai-rika.co.jp/)

Unfortunately there's everything I needed to know on the contact page:
Quote
We are an OEM parts supplier for car manufacturer with contract.
...
Our connectors are also OEM products for manufacturers,
so that we have no right to suppy them for individual usage.

Since I cant find any trace of a clone, looks like I'm going to have to see if they are available from Toyota

Sometimes the connectors are made by several different manufactures.
Toyota has had housings and terminals available some in kit form.
Tokai Rika is that mfg.

You may be able to order the connectors, or kits, from someone like PartsSouq or Amayama cheaper than from Toyota Australia
