If Barnes and nobel goes down what happens to my nooks?
« on: June 20, 2021, 01:07:53 am »
I just found my B&W e ink nook (charging at the moment) and color nook. To read and even delete things you had to do it through your bn account, which I dont remember good luck getting ahold of customer service.

Some one here must have a older nook, mines from around 2016 when I had tons of money to buy useless toys. Are they useless now?

So it connects to my wifi, I see my weird free google books I downloaded ages ago, but I think they live on the SD or intternal memory but when you click shop, it says you must connect to wifi and bring up your networks showing that you are already connected. If you try to click like it wants you to it disconnects your wifi. :wtf: :wtf: :wtf: :wtf:

Is there a format  I can put on an SD card and read it? Whats a nooks extension .nok? .pdf?

Does it not enumerate as a removable drive if you plug it into the USB port on a PC? I have a Kindle I bought back in 2010 that has never been associated with an Amazon account, I've always just copied files directly to it.

Look into hacking it, I recall some of the later ones can run plain Android.
Cryptocurrency has taught me to love math and at the same time be baffled by it.

Cryptocurrency lesson 0: Altcoins and Bitcoin are not the same thing.

Mine uses epub files. Apart from for the initial registration, I've never let mine connect to the internet. I just plug it into a PC via a USB cable, it presents as a mass storage device and I copy epub files to an appropriate directory (can't remember where /media/MyFiles/books ?). When you dismount the drive it rescans the directories and the books appear in the library app.

I did root it so I could add other apps but I don't remember that being necessary to just copy books as described above.
I'm not David L Jones. Apparently I actually do have to point this out.
