Do the fire engine drivers in the U.S. charge an appearance fee for something like that?

The temp sensors should have been used to reduce the power/speed of the bike to avoid sudden shock or overheating. But they needed to do testing to find these issues and that costs money.
One of the things I have learnt about a new bike is you take it for some short easy journeys to start with to run it in. I know at least 2 people that would strip a bike down and rebuild it before even attempting to start it, that way they would know every bolt was done up right and the bits that needed lube were lubed.
A poor connection on the battery could generate some heat.

I wonder if, going forward, more emphasis should be put on being able to 'eject the core'? Though I suppose that if even basic temp sensors aren't even present then it's doomed.

I don't think any company will have battery eject for an off-the-shelf bike, too many legal issues.
But having a pin you can pull in a hurry and have the battery pack fall out the bottom is probably a good idea for home built jobs.

Hmm... Please see below. But I agree that the "tobebike.com" website looks fishy as hell. No details about the company at all, not much about the products, and the "order form" is a Surveymonkey form. :--

As above its looks to be another POS made in the USA ;-) More specifically the frame is made in the USA (Wynnewood, Pennsylvania) and then the Chinese stuff is bolted in. The ebay listing I found states "10,000w+ TheOtherBike TOB, QS 138 70h, 72v 45ah, VOTOL Controller (not SurRon)" I wonder if this person used to sell Audio stuff in the past as I get a whiff of snake oil.
3kW motor but it can do 20kW

eBay Store is, https://www.ebay.com/str/ebike1com and it doesn't look like they have sold much for a while.

Now the site may seem a little shoddy but I know a few engineers of mechanical stuff and they ain't computer types.

Anyone know of a Mosfet that can 'do' 20kw? :o
72v 45ah is how much energy dissipation? Maybe it's all air cooled, like the smoking legs of the rider?
Through the primary power bus bar:
3000W @ 72V ~= 41A
20000W @ 72V ~= 270A :bullshit:
Which yields on the normal setting just under one hour of riding. Or roughly 40 miles on the flat. At max amps though, the rider has a mere 8 minutes to ride as far from civilisation before the bike turns into a mobile crematorium. A paltry 6.66 miles >:D
 MADE IN AMERICA
