| Incorrect fuse sent by RS |
| (1/1) |
| syau:
Order some 500mA slow blow fuse from RS, on received found the fuse were marked as 5A :wtf: instead of 500mA. Called RS, asked them to inspect the item before ship and they sent replacement few days later. Same issue. :palm: Gave them a call again and asked them to check the lot again, finally get the right shipment today The first 2 shipment were from the warehouse in France while the correct one is from Germany |

I once had a similar issue with some switches. RS kept sending a slightly different variety (illuminated vs non-illuminated). I told them several times but in the end bought something else to unblock my project. |

It is utterly unbelievable that the internal standard procedure of responding to the "wrong item" case, which likely is one of the most common problem cases, does not include checking if the items in the warehouse bin are correct / bin is correctly labeled! Or maybe there is no procedure. Just "putting off fires" in whatever way. |

If they would send out a worker to check the contents of every box were someone reported that they received a wrong item they would probably need a person working nonstop on this issue… A lot of those cases are probably just "didn't read the description carefull enough when ordering" or "accidentally ordered wrong item, but thought they ordered the right one", it is way more efficient to flag only those bins for inspections were multiple reports of wrong items were filed. Sucks for the customer to receive the same wrong item a few times in a row, but saves a lot of money for the company. |

Digikey specifically asked me to identify the wrong part I received, I'm certain they wanted this info to track down and either inspect the bin or adjust inventory appropriately. They know what they are doing at least. |
