Title: IP65-IP67 low cost electronics box - suggestions?

Hi all,

We're looking to source a fairly low cost IP65-IP67 plastic box (e.g. a junction box), ideally with a transparent top cover.
I've scoured Alibaba and various other pages, but I struggle getting the dimensions right.

The attached picture shows roughly what dimensions we're looking for and what we're trying to do.

Basically, we're looking to offer the box as a low cost optional add-on for our existing data logger product. To do so, we were hoping to find a standard-size box that is as compact as possible, while still allowing the end user to insert/extract our product from the box.

Our product has 2 x DB9 connectors which are not IP67. Our thinking is to create a small PCB with 2 x regular DB9 connectors on the lower side and 2 x IP 67 DB9 connectors on the upper side. This would be added inside the junction box to serve as a "gateway" for the device to the outside of the box.

Note that it's not possible for us to easily create a variant of the product that is IP67 without the outside box because the footprint of existing IP67 DB9 connectors take up too much space on our PCB, which would require also a custom PCB for this purpose (which is outside the scope for now).

1) If any of you have good suggestions for standard boxes or where to look for these, let me know
2) If you have alternative ideas for the setup, we're also interested

The first thing to decide is whether it needs to be airtight i.e. moisture proof.

That is very hard to achieve and you need IP68, and a strong box with stiff sides to make sure the o-ring seals are properly compressed.

Below that, there are loads of boxes on the market. Or you can get tooling made in china for a few k.
