« on: April 04, 2013, 05:00:56 pm »
I ordered a meter with franky he shipped it on the 28/03/2013, this morning I'm using it 04/04/2013,  now that by any standard is good going , It was actually faster than getting stuff from here in the UK.  Thank you Franky, it's really nice to have a 22000 count meter doing my low powered electronics :-+ :-+

I'm glad you're pleased with the purchase :) I can't take all the credit for the quick delivery though. All I could do was ship the order out as quickly as I could but after that it was in the hands of the postal services.

Thanks a lot! I am constantly looking for more stuff to stock and sell but it's a slow process as I like to test and see things for myself first before offering them. Being a one man shop I sometimes just feel like I need about 72 hours in a day to do all I want to do! :)

And you've got to ship out thousands of connectors to annoying bloggers in the hardware business!  ;D

It would be nice if he could stock the DER EE ESR meters. Those are really quite nice, and it would be lovely to have a known person to buy from.
I'm not saying we should kill all stupid people. I'm just saying that we should remove all product safety labels and let natural selection do its work.

Another thank you/recommendation for Franky. I bought a precision voltage reference a few weeks ago and had several emails back and forth with questions about it (mainly due to my own impatience, tried to use it without a battery) and got responses sometimes within a few minutes.

The price and delivery time was excellent too. I now check Franky's store first for any T&M kit.

I did actually sell them as a full set including the plastic case and so on, BEFORE the Japanese sellers came and made it impossible for me to compete. They must have a distributor in Japan who offers them amazing pricing. I got my units directly from DER EE and there's no way I can compete with them in terms of price. In fact, I still have 2 sets sitting in my shop. I may just post a couple of clearance auctions eventually...

Yes, there's a long thread on the design of that device on this forum. Plus the other sellers are already offering them at rock bottom prices so I'm not really sure about carrying them...

I bought the Yihua 995D+ soldering station from Franky.

I have in fact also going to start selling a new Yihua 2-in-1 rework station: http://www.yihua-gz.com/Products_detail.asp?id=460&sortid=271 More details to follow in a future post.
The blue display is very nice. The soldering iron itself is quite lightweight and handy, compared to my old one and uses the standard Hakko tips. The heat-up time is fast. There is also a sleep mode and three memory buttons. The small footprint also saves some space on a small bench.

The price and delivery was very good, and I also got some extra soldering tips.
His customer support is excellent too. I had a fault after some weeks and he sent me a replacement instantly! This high level of customer support is extraordinary.

I’m very happy with this purchase!  :-+

What is the current affair of shipping from Shenzhen/Hong Kong? Stuff is still stuck if not shipping with DHL?

I am not aware of any issues with shipping from Hong Kong to the rest of the world through Hong Kong Post.

There are some delays for shipments from mainland China to Hong Kong though, which is making life difficult for me when it comes to re-stocking stuff :( This is likely due to the recent anti-government events in Hong Kong and they are censoring everything that's passing through the China-HK border. I've heard that things like surgical and dust masks have been stopped (as they are used heavily by the protestors to protect themselves against pepper spray and tear gas).
